Panel Outline
The rapidly accelerating development of ICT has a dramatic impact on our ability to collect, analyse, utilise, distribute and exchange information of all types around the globe. Government and business institutions both large and small are redesigning their processes internally and externally – forming a variety of collaborative networks with many different partners to enhance traditional and innovative value creation processes.

The general theme of the 21stBled eConference addresses researchers who want to contribute to the discussion and development of the socio-technical dimensions and new services shaping this collaboration of individuals, groups, corporations and governmental institutions towards the process of globalization.

Traditionally, the Bled eConferences are known to allow for (critical) reviews of organizational or economic change, as well as innovative concepts for redesigning business processes. Following a truly pluralistic understanding of research, papers based on a variety of research approaches – as well as more technology driven contributions – are invited. The main focus of research track submissions and panel discussions is directed towards understanding of the ongoing changes in traditional collaboration mechanisms; and the emergence of innovative types of service concepts supporting new ways of collaboration. The term ‘multi-channel’ may lead to a more integrated view of such converging areas as mobile VAS or Web 2.0 platforms, linking them to ‘traditional approaches’. As discussed for many years, many obvious challenges arise along cross-border collaboration approaches, e.g. need for security, standardization or additional legislation, but now with even greater complexity and relevance.

The Bled eConference will once again provide a platform for the exchange of expertise and for bridging the perspectives of the different groups of participants from academia, industry and governmental organisations.
